Which measuring instrument should be chosen? A multimeter is suitable for basic measurements of voltage, current and resistance. An oscilloscope lets you see the waveform and changes as a function of time, while a logic analyzer is particularly suitable for examining digital buses and signals. A spectrum analyzer, on the other hand, is used to analyze the frequency content of signals.
