The SHN914A is suitable, for example, for determining filters' Q factor, bandwidth and insertion loss. The instrument features impedance transformation, measurement plane shifting, limit testing, ripple testing, fixture simulation and adjustment for adapter removal and addition.

Five different sweep methods can be used in measurements: linear frequency sweep, logarithmic frequency sweep, power sweep, CW time sweep and segment sweep. SHN900A-series analyzers additionally support SOLT, SOLR, TRL, Response and Enhanced Response calibrations for scattering parameter measurements.
