How do I choose the right Hirose connector?
Connector selection starts with the application and the mating part. Check in particular series, number of pins, pitch, male or female configuration, and mounting method. For PCB connectors it is also important to verify whether the connector is intended for horizontal or vertical mounting and whether surface-mount or through-hole mounting is used.
What is the difference between FFC/FPC and board-to-board connectors?
With FFC/FPC connectors a flexible flat cable is connected directly to the PCB. Board-to-board connectors, on the other hand, connect two PCBs to each other without a separate cable. In both cases the correct series, pitch, and number of pins must be checked before selecting the connector.
