Which Saleae Logic model should you choose?

The appropriate Saleae logic analyzer depends particularly on the number of channels required and the speed of the signals being examined. Logic 8 is suitable for many common measurements of digital electronics and buses. The Logic Pro models offer more performance, and Logic Pro 16 enables concurrent examination of up to 16 signals.

When is a logic analyzer used instead of an oscilloscope?

A logic analyzer is especially useful when you want to examine multiple digital signals or decode communication protocols. An oscilloscope, in turn, shows the electrical waveform of a signal in more detail. In debugging embedded systems, both tools can complement each other.
