SparkFun Pro Micro RP2040 is an affordable, high-performance development board with flexible digital connectors and the Raspberry Pi Foundation RP2040 microcontroller. In addition to the familiar Pro Micro footprint, the board also includes a WS2812B addressable LED, a power button, a reset button, a Qwiic connector, USB-C, a resettable PTC fuse, and castellated pads.
The RP2040 uses two ARM Cortex-M0+ processors (up to 133 MHz) and has the following features:
- 264 kB of embedded SRAM in six banks.
- Six dedicated IOs for SPI Flash (supports XIP).
- 30 multi-function GPIOs
- Dedicated hardware for commonly used peripherals.
- Programmable IO for extended peripheral support.
- Four-channel ADC with internal temperature sensor, 0.5 MSa/s, 12-bit conversion.
- USB 1.1 host/device
The RP2040 is supported by both C/C++ and MicroPython cross-development environments, including easy access to runtime debugging. It has UF2 boot and drag-and-drop routines built into the chip. The built-in USB can function as either device or host. It has two symmetric cores and large internal bandwidth, making it useful for signal processing and video. The chip contains a large amount of internal RAM, and the board also includes a 16 Mb external QSPI flash chip for storing program code.
