Dimmer 2 is a compact dimmer relay designed to fit behind most switch and socket faceplates. With the Dimmer 2 connected to the wireless network, conventional lighting can be easily turned into smart lighting. After installation, lights can still be operated in the traditional way using the wall switch.

The Dimmer 2 can be configured to follow sunrise and sunset, allowing the lighting to adjust automatically. The dimmer gradually increases light in the morning and reduces it as evening falls. Lighting can also be easily adjusted to optimal levels for activities such as reading or watching TV.

Security features include an internal temperature sensor. If the circuit board temperature rises too high, the device shuts off immediately. A separate power limit can also be set. If Dimmer 2 detects consumption above the set limit, it cuts power immediately.

Shelly smart home products support the Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants. In addition to the above, many other smart home systems/platforms are supported (verify compatibility per product). Shelly products connect to a wireless Wi-Fi network and do not require a separate home automation controller to operate.

Note! You will need an electrician's assistance for fixed electrical installations. If a single Dimmer 2 relay is used to control several different lights, the controlled light sources must be identical in terms of power and operating technology. When used without a neutral wire, Dimmer 2 requires a minimum load of 10 W to operate. If the connected light consumes less than this, a separate Shelly Bypass device must be installed in between.
