CM4 Router Board is an expansion board based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. It brings two full-speed gigabit network ports to the Raspberry Pi CM4, and the RTL8111E controller chip provides better performance, lower CPU usage and more stable long-term reliability compared to a USB network adapter.

This CM Router Board is highly scalable with abundant IO peripherals. It has a USB2.0 port that can connect a USB flash drive, USB keyboard, printers, WIFI modules, etc. The standard HDMI connector can help you configure the device and conveniently display usage information. In addition, the 5V DC fan connector supports a 5V cooling fan and also the PWM protocol, meaning you can control the fan blade speed with a PWM signal.

The powerful performance of the BCM2711 quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A72 and the Raspberry Pi community's extensive software support make this board a solid foundation for building high-performance gateways, smart routers and home IoT platforms. If you need multiple LAN ports like typical routers, it is recommended to use a gigabit switch to expand the network ports, which will not affect its Internet performance. It can also be connected to peripherals and used as a mini-NAS, wireless bridge or mini server controllable from an endpoint.
