Raspberry Pi Debug Probe

Overview

Raspberry Pi Debug Probe is a standalone USB-based debug device that provides the necessary interfaces for programming and troubleshooting embedded Arm microcontrollers. The device is designed for ease of use by connecting to the target system's SWD and UART connections without soldering. The device is based on Raspberry Pi Pico hardware and the RP2040 processor.

Compatibility and connectivity

The device's SWD and UART interfaces follow the Raspberry Pi 3-pin Debug Connector Specification, making it directly compatible with the connectors used on newer Raspberry Pi boards and Pico-series devices. The Debug Probe also works with other Arm microcontrollers that use a 3.3V operating voltage.

Setup and software tools

The Debug Probe works directly with most development environments. It supports the CMSIS-DAP protocol and integrates with the OpenOCD toolchain. The device firmware is the open-source debugprobe software and is updatable in UF2 format.
