The Raspberry CM5 module board is more or less compatible with CM4 module boards, but check the motherboard designed for CM4 before use. The form factor is the same 55 x 40 mm and the board has the same 100-pin HD connectors. The BCM2712 SoC on Raspberry Pi 5 boards is more powerful in performance than its predecessor BCM2711 found on the Pi 4. One difference to note is the higher-performance PCIe Gen 2.0 interface.
