The Raspberry CM5 module card is roughly compatible with CM4 module cards, but check the motherboard designed for CM4 before use. The form factor is the same 55 x 40 mm and the board uses the same 100-pin HD connectors. The BCM2712 SoC on the Raspberry Pi 5 boards is more powerful in performance than its predecessor BCM2711 found on the Pi 4. One difference to note is a higher-performance PCIe Gen 2.0 interface.
