The Raspberry CM5 module board is broadly compatible with CM4 module boards, but check the motherboard designed for CM4 before use. The form factor is the same 55 x 40 mm and the board uses the same 100-pin HD connectors. The Broadcom BCM2712 SoC on Raspberry Pi 5 boards is more powerful than its predecessor BCM2711 found on the Pi 4. One difference is a higher-performance PCIe Gen 2.0 interface.
