Portenta Vision Shield LoRa® brings industrial-grade features to your Portenta. This hardware add-on lets you run embedded computer vision applications, connect wirelessly over LoRa® to the Arduino Cloud or your own infrastructure, and trigger your system based on detected audio events.

Shield includes:

• 320x320 pixel camera sensor: use one of the Portenta cores to run image recognition algorithms with the OpenMV for Arduino editor
• long-range 868/915MHz LoRa wireless connectivity: connect the Portenta H7 to the Internet of Things with low power consumption
• two on-board microphones for direction finding: record and analyze audio in real time
• JTAG connector: perform low-level debugging of the Portenta board or special firmware updates with an external programmer
• SD card connector: store captured data to a card or read configuration files

Download OpenMV for Arduino Editor from the professional tutorials site and browse the examples in the OpenMV IDE. Companies around the world are already building commercial products on this simple yet powerful approach to detect, filter and classify images, QR codes and more.

Debugging with professional tools

Connect the Portenta H7 to a professional debugger via the JTAG connector. Use professional software tools, such as Lauterbach or Segger tools, to debug your code step-by-step on the board. The Vision Shield exposes the necessary pins so you can connect your external JTAG.
