This bag of parts contains basic LEDs of various shapes and sizes in different colors.

Each LED operates at less than 10 mA current. You need a current-limiting resistor in series. The LEDs are suitable only to be driven from direct current sources, such as a battery or a DC power supply.

LEDs have different forward voltages depending on color and intensity.

Forward voltages

• Red approx. n. 1.6 V
• Green approx. n. 2.1 V
• Yellow approx. n. 1.8 V
• IR (Infrared) approx. n. 1 V (invisible to the eye, used in IR remote controls)
