The Joy-IT KY023JM analog joystick module provides the stick's X and Y positions as analog voltage signals. In idle the potentiometers are in the center position, so the resistance values and output voltages are the same. When the stick is moved along the X or Y axis, the resistances change with the movement and produce different voltage values. By measuring these voltages the precise position of the stick can be determined.
