This is an infrared reflection (IR) based line tracking sensor module and it is very easy to use. The sensor is mounted on the bottom of the module, which is ideal for line detection on mobile robots. It includes a built-in potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment. The output is a digital signal, so it is easy to connect to any microcontroller such as Arduino/Genuino UNO, Mega, Leonardo, Zero, 101, even Raspberry Pi or Raspberry Pi Zero.

• Operating voltage: 3.3V or 5VDC
• 4-pin connector, which are: AO, DO, GND and VCC:
  • The analog voltage is high when there is no obstacle or infrared reflection. The voltage gradually decreases when infrared is received/reflected.
  • DO is the sensor module's digital output pin; connect it to any microcontroller digital input. The output is logic LOW when a target is detected.
  • GND is where you connect the controller's ground or 0V.
  • VCC is the +ve supply; connect either +3,3V or +5V.
• Two LED indicators:
  • Power indicator LED
  • Target detection indicator LED
• Obstacle detection range: 5 mm - 10 mm from the sensor
• Adjustable sensitivity with on-board potentiometer, which means adjustable detection range.
