A significantly lower-power version of the popular general-purpose timer IC, the 555. In principle it fits directly into 555 circuits but note at least the following points:

output drive capability weaker than the standard NE555 IC:
- sink 100mA / source 10mA (cf. NE555: 200mA)
Supply voltage range: 2...15VDC (cf. NE555: 4,5...16VDC)
