The popular Arduino Ethernet Shield from Arduino has a new updated version available. It includes a MicroSD memory card slot and follows the 1.0 pinout (UNO Rev 3). The Ethernet network interface is based on the Wiznet W5500 chip and supports up to eight simultaneous TCP/UDP socket connections. The network traffic library is included in the core installation and the memory card library is available from the link below. The RJ45 panel connector is board-mounted and communication with both the Ethernet chip and the SD card takes place over the SPI bus. In addition, five surface-mount LEDs indicate, among other things, the network status.
