Adafruit NeoKey 1x4 - breakout on a 3" x 0.8" sized PCB that fits four Cherry MX or compatible switches. The switches connect to Kailh sockets, so no soldering is required – although a small drop of hot glue or epoxy can help secure them. Each switch position also has a NeoPixel LED that shines directly through the switch.

The board comes with a preprogrammed microcontroller running seesaw firmware, which means both key reading and NeoPixel control are handled over I2C. Multiple boards can be chained on the I2C bus by changing the address jumper links – up to 16 boards on a single bus. Adafruit provides ready-made Arduino and CircuitPython/Python libraries for easy setup.

The board has two rows of 6-pin pads at 0.1" pitch on both sides, allowing use on a breadboard or perfboard. For mechanical stability, it is recommended to solder both rows. Note that the package includes only the programmed PCB – switches, keycaps and the microcontroller are not included.
