The sensor can read both the thermocouple (hot) and the on-board sensor (cold) temperature. Alarms can also be set for too high or too low temperatures. Operation is simple via the I2C bus.

The breakout board includes the IC itself, a 3.3 V regulator and level-shifting circuits. It works with both 3.3 V and 5 V logic. A 2-pin connector for the thermocouple and a pin header for breadboard use are included. The board has STEMMA QT connectors that are compatible with SparkFun Qwiic connectors, allowing connection without soldering. QT cable is not included.

Ideal, for example, for use with a 1 m K-type thermocouple.
