Adafruit ENS160 MOX gas sensor provides an accurate way to measure air quality without complex control. The sensor combines multiple metal-oxide based sensing and heating elements on the same chip and includes a microcontroller that controls heating, measurements and data transfer over the I2C bus.

The ENS160 is the successor to the popular but discontinued CCS811 sensor. It offers similar functionality but requires new drivers. Ready-made libraries are available for Arduino and CircuitPython, supporting TVOC, eCO₂ and AQI measurements as well as reading four raw resistance values.

The sensor supports temperature and humidity compensation to improve accuracy. RH% read from an external sensor can be written over I2C, allowing the sensor to correct for humidity and temperature-induced variations.

Adafruit has implemented the sensor in the STEMMA QT form factor, which is compatible with SparkFun Qwiic connectors. This enables easy solderless connections and chaining of multiple I2C devices. Additionally, a 3.3V regulator and level shifting are included, so the sensor works with both 3.3V and 5V systems.
