How do I choose the right Hirose connector?
Choosing a connector starts with the application and the mating counterpart. Pay particular attention to series, number of contacts, pitch, male or female configuration, and mounting method. For PCB connectors, it is also important to check whether the connector is intended for horizontal or vertical mounting and whether surface-mount or through-hole mounting is used.
What is the difference between FFC/FPC and board-to-board connectors?
FFC/FPC connectors attach a flexible flat cable directly to the printed circuit board. Board-to-board connectors, on the other hand, connect two PCBs to each other without a separate cable. In both cases, the correct series, pitch and number of contacts must be verified before selecting the connector.
